We present VLAH i observations of the blue compact dwarf (BCD) galaxies NGC 2366, NGC 4861, VII Zw 403, and Haro 2. These galaxies span a range of BCD morphological types. This paper is the first in a series presenting a sample of 30 late-type dwarf galaxies, observed with the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope (WSRT) in the 21-cm line of neutral atomic hydrogen (HI).
